Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 4.x • Re: Updating from Joomla 3 to 4

@GWS: I have no idea how to fix the php problem. Any suggestions? Also, I don't know what idna_convert is and how to reinstall it. You see, my competence on web sites is very limited. My site's URL is www.marcocrescenzi.it

@Webdongle: I think (I hope) I understand roughly both of the methods you are proposing, but I have a couple of questions.
1. Would those methods replace the "machinery" of the site (forgive my poor technical language) or duplicate it?
2. With either method, would the contents of the site be safely transferred to the new "machinery" or should I reload them manually?
3. As J3 is no longer supported, would your methods work with J4? That is can I directly install J4 and proceed with the rest of your suggestions?

Thanks both
