Templates for Joomla! 5.x • Red closing tags in CodeMirror in custom template files

I have created a category new item type and associated article php override that displays only field values rather than any 'text'. For some reason that I can't fathom, I am seeing red closing tags (</div>) in some of the code when I'm viewing it in CodeMirror. It renders perfectly well on the front end and and in neither Notepad++ nor Visual Studio Code is it throwing any errors.

See screenshot:I've checked the whole file for any missing closing tags.
Any ideas, or is it just a CodeMirror thing?
